Flipper-Flop 2 |
Yeah, we're still cute, but we're also HARDCORE! We'll follow our captain's orders to the end! |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Flipper-Flop 2 (かえってきた コロコロたんけん隊 Kaettekita Korokoro Tankentai "Return of Rolling Exploration Group"), known in Rhythm Heaven Fever as simply Flipper-Flop (コロコロたんけん隊 Korokoro Tankentai "Rolling Exploration Group"), is the 22nd minigame in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 55th minigame, being a sequel to Flipper-Flop in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. In this game, the expedition team of Flippers drills hard listening to their captain.
Gameplay
In this game, players must flip to the beat of the song. When three consecutive eighth notes played are heard in the song, the player must press A in the same timing in the next two beats. The caller, Captain Tuck, will ask the seals to perform a certain amount of "flipper-rolls", which are performed with different buttons.
Controls
Rhythm Heaven Fever
- Ⓐ: Flip
- Ⓐ+Ⓑ: Flipper-Roll
Rhythm Heaven Megamix
- Ⓐ/Tap: Flip
- Ⓑ/Tap: Flipper-Flop
Timing Display
- Perfect!/Ace!: The flipping will continue. After a successful flipper-roll chain, Captain Tuck will compliment the team with a "Good!", "Yes!" or "Nice!".
- Early!/Late!: The player's seal will get close to bumping, and will get a worried look on its face. A small "tick" sound will replace the normal sound. If it happens during a flipper-roll chain, Captain Tuck will not become disappointed. In Fever, Captain Tuck will still compliment the seals, but in Megamix, Captain Tuck will act disappointed after the flipper-roll chain ends.
- Miss...: The player's seal bumps into the seal(s) next to it, causing it to get a silly look on its face while the other seals look annoyed. If the mess-up happens during a flipper-roll chain, Captain Tuck will become disappointed and he will count the remaining rolls in an upset tone of voice.

Two-Player Mode
A version of the game can be unlocked in the game's two player mode. It requires the completion of the original game and the previous two-player game, Micro-Row, to unlock.
The game has the first player as a blue seal and the second as an orange seal. Each player is in a separate row of seals. The game follows the original game's pattern with no changes, the players need to do the same thing.
Trivia
- In the end of a flipper roll routine, if the player attempts to roll beyond count, Captain Tuck may shout out "Now!" upon the error.
- At the training in the Japanese version of Rhythm Heaven Fever, he says "Sentai, Hajime!"("Squadron, start!") very similarly to Marching Orders' audio cue.
- The background in epilogue screens was changed to have pink color on it like in-game rather than blue in Fever.
- There are a total of 230 inputs required to get a Perfect in this game.
- The premise of this game is similar to Blue Birds, as both games involve cute small animals doing serious military-esque training.
