Template:Game-NavTemplate:Minigame infobox Tap Trial (タップダンス^?, Tappu Dansu) is the twenty-ninth game in Rhythm Tengoku. The game is about a girl who is learning to tap dance like the monkeys. A sequel is unlocked later on called Turbo Tap Trial.

Gameplay

The girl (the character played in this game) dances simultaneously with the two monkeys and must follow their signals. If the monkeys let out a small cry, it signals to tap once right afterwards. If they make two noises, then it signals to tap twice quickly afterwards. If the monkey yells as all the characters raise their arms, it signals to tap three times quickly afterwards. If the monkey yelps, it signals to tap the moment the girl and monkeys have landed a jump.

• Hit: The girl taps on the beat.
• Barely: A quick "dink" sound is heard. A barely counts as a hit.
• Miss: The girl taps off beat, causing the Giraffe to huff sadly. If missed on where the monkeys yelp, the girl will incorrectly land.

Tap Trial (タップダンス|Tappu Dansu) is remade in Rhythm Heaven Fever as an Extra Game. This can be unlocked for 44 medals. (Remember, medals are earned when getting a superb. You can't get medals for Night Walk or Extra Games.) The rating screens are changed in this minigame. The controls and timing notes are the same as before.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix

Gameplay

The gameplay is the exact same like in GBA and Wii version, but the tutorial text is now updated for each cues you must follow. The 3D Effect of the Nintendo 3DS were added in this game to give more details as when Tap Trial Girl and monkeys are tapping together, the red little stars appear. The controls and the entire game itself are left original.

Trivia

• This game was graphically updated for Rhythm Heaven Fever as an Extra Game, which is unlocked after accumulating 44 Medals.
  • The monkeys are noticeably smaller in the Fever version, most likely to make them more consistent with the other monkeys in that game.
• This game has the most variations and graphical changes out of all the games in the entire series, having a whopping five different variations- the original, the sequel variant in Turbo Tap Trial with MAN-K, the Remix 5 variant featuring "delinquent" monkeys and a blonde woman, and two other variants used in Remix 7 and Remix 8- one with a Chinese theme and yellow monkeys taking place in the sky, and one with pigs instead of monkeys, taking place inside a kitchen.
  • Rhythm Heaven Megamix introduces two more variants to Tap Trial in the Songbird Remix, featuring the woman and the monkeys all dressed up like birds while tap dancing inside a birdcage, and in the Challenge Train mission Wario...Where? which replaces the girl with Ashley and has Red riding the Giraffe. This brings the total of variations for this minigame to 7.
• This is one of a few games to have different rating screens of both versions.
• In Superb rating screen of Megamix, Tap Trial Girl's arm changed its position and the giraffe has 2 hairs on its back instead of having multiple like in Fever it did. The reason why this rating screen was a bit changed in Megamix is unknown.
