Mini Chōnin (ミニ町人[2]?, Mini Townsfolk) are miniature people consisting of men and women who dress themselves in Japanese clothes. They appear in Power Calligraphy.
Story
While the player is writing Japanese calligraphy, these fairy tale people seemingly come out of nowhere. They're not the steadiest people, and if the player gets the writing messed up, they'll fall over in disappointment. They bow when the face at the end is shown, as if they worship it. They have yet to break away from a feudal society[2].

Although Mini Chōnin themselves don't appear in the Super Smash Bros. series, the trophy for the Chorus Kids in Dairantō Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS mentions them.

When it comes to having many mysterious and charming characters, there are not many works to the right of Rhythm Heaven. For example, Shison-tachi, Mr. Upbeat, Waru Mono, I don't know if they were twisted or have always been like that. Meanwhile, Mini Chōnin, Love-san, Tram and Poline are cute, very cute. Trivia
- If the player makes a mistake while playing Power Calligraphy in Rhythm Heaven Fever and Rhythm Heaven Megamix before the Mini Chōnin make their appearance, a few pixels of one of the fallen townsfolk can be spotted on the top of the screen, which is easier to see in the latter game. They do not get up until the section where they are supposed to appear in.
- This makes them partially visible in Right-Hand Remix if the player messes up during the Power Calligraphy section.
