To get a medal the player must get at least a superb rank on one of the main 50 games. When you get enough medals you can unlock Mini-Games and Rhythm Toys. In Rhythm Heaven for the DS you can also use them to unlock Guitar lessons.

Getting a perfect will earn the player two medals instead of one.
