The Space Slugger hits baseballs into space in the minigame Spaceball, where he can be seen alongside a small alien. He appears in Rhythm Tengoku and Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

Physical Appearance

The Space Slugger is a green, human-like figure. It's never mentioned if he's specifically a human or not though. He has no face and a white helmet on top of his head. He wears a white baseball outfit and holds a yellow baseball bat. As well as a black belt, the Space Slugger also wears black shoes.

Throughout Spaceball, the Space Slugger puts on various different costumes. The first of which appears to be a bunny rabbit. His clothes and skin turn pink, and he wears a rabbit head. His shoes and belt turn pink as well.

His other costume replaces his head with another big red head. His clothes turn yellow and blue, along with his belt and shoes. The red head itself has big eyes and sweats nervously whenever he hits the baseballs.

Story

In Rhythm Tengoku, when you perfect Spaceball, you get an email called "Inside Spaceball." This email is a transcript of an interview between the Space Slugger (referred to as Mr. Spaceballer) and TV show host Ryan Williams. To start the show (which is called Radio Heaven News in Deep Space) Ryan Williams asks Mr. Spaceballer how he's doing, to which he replies he's doing well, as he gave it his all in his last Spaceball game.

The interview continues as Ryan Williams asks him more questions.

"How's the season looking right now?"

"I'm eating rice balls, so it's right on the mark!"

"And what is your goal in all this?"

"To not forget the rice balls!"

Although it seems like the rest of the interview is going to be about rice balls, Ryan Williams asks an interesting question. The answer to which, is never referenced again.

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"Yes, I do. She's right over there. Celeste comes to all of my practices and games."

"What else does Celeste do for you?"

"What else? Her cooking specialty is rice balls!"

"So it sounds like you two are the perfect match."

"Indeed. It may be trite, but we were made for each other."

 

This is interesting because we never actually get to see Celeste in-game unless Celeste is the Small Alien. There is no clarification on the true identity of Celeste.

The interview ends after Ryan Williams asks the Space Slugger about his masks and costumes. The Space Slugger denies changing costumes, replying,

"What are you talking about?"

and

"I don't know what you're talking about."

When asked to answer the question properly, he leaves stating that his time is up.
