• Play-Yan appeared as a cameo in The Dazzles, where he is shown holding some of the stars.
• Play-Yan is named after the Play-Yan, a game that would allow a GBA to play MP3 games. He would appear there as a cameo, and Night Walk would appear as a background for the menu.
• This is one of few characters who have showed up in all 4 games in the series, although Play-yan mostly shows up as cameos
• Play-Yan occasionally appears in the Nintendo 3DS MP3 playing function in the Nintendo 3DS Sound application.
