In this game, in front of the player is a little monkey holding a tambourine in an empty blue background. When the game starts, the monkey will perform a "set" of notes, shaking and hitting his tambourine to create a pattern. After the monkey finishes, he will cue the player with a call. The player will then have to repeat the pattern to the monkey by shaking and hitting their own tambourine. After the pattern is finished, the monkey will start the next set. Each set consists of 7 notes, with the length between notes and the command type varying.

In this game, the player controls an unseen human holding a tambourine. In front of the player is a little Monkey which communicates mostly in ooks, and is also holding a tambourine. The monkey shakes and hits his tambourine to create a pattern. After the monkey finishes, he gives the player a signal that it's their turn. After the player's turn is over, the monkey reacts to the player's performance, and starts the next pattern. Each pattern consists of 7 cues, with the length between notes and the command type varying with the music.

|just=The player shakes or taps their tambourine in time and the monkey continues watching. At the end of a set, the monkey smiles.
*Miss...: Missing the timing badly will cause a frog to jump on the monkey's head and stay there for a while before jumping off.
|miss=The player mistimes their notes, causing the monkey to look embarrassed.

|through=The player either misses a note or does a note when they're not supposed to. This causes a frog to jump on the monkey's head, with the monkey looking embarrassed.}}

Similar to the original, the players must copy the patterns of a monkey with their tambourines. P1 follows a blue monkey and P2 follows an orange monkey. The monkeys and players are parallel to each other rather than angled like the original. Some patterns require only one player to play at a time.

Trivia
Trivia
*This, along with the two-player version of it, is the only game in Rhythm Heaven Fever that has no animation on the prologue.
*This is the only game in Rhythm Heaven Fever that has no animation on the prologue.
*The reason a monkey was used for this game might be because of the cymbal-banging monkey, a well-known children's toy.
*The sprites for the frog in this game are reused from Kaeru Tobi, but with a thicker outline.
*This minigame seems to take the phrase: "monkey see, monkey do" but in reverse (with the player repeating after the monkey)
*In Police Call, inputting the code word BIRDS brings up audio of the monkey attempting to play Tambourine with a Huebird. The Huebird keeps ending every pattern with the squawk call from its own Rhythm Game, so the monkey eventually finishes a pattern with the same squawk call so that the Huebird can correctly follow before the call ends.
*This is one of five games in Rhythm Heaven Fever that doesn't return in Rhythm Heaven Megamix despite having been in 3 remixes (Remix 2, 9, 10)
Development History
* The monkey has an unused sprite of him looking to the left, closing his eyes, & smiling. Oddly enough, every version except for the one in Remix 2 has a recolored version of the sprite.

**There’s also a small monkey-shaped shadow as well, which was presumably used to represent said monkey instead of the generic circle-shaped one.
