The Rhythm Heaven (リズムてんごく?, Rhythm Tengoku) series holds all of the Rhythm Heaven games. There are currently a total of four released games, with one port and one upcoming title.

Conception

Main article: Rhythm Tengoku/Development

In 2004, Tsunku♂ brought in a proposal and conception for what would eventually become Rhythm Tengoku. He was influenced by his dissatisfaction with "sound games" which involved pressing buttons at specific times but not actual rhythm. He initially envisioned it as potentially being early childhood software to hone in the rhythmic sense of Japanese people, or rhythm training software for karaoke lovers. The game proved to be very popular in Japan, and the sequel, Rhythm Heaven, would bring the series internationally.
