The player must follow the directions of the other partners by pressing the corresponding buttons. It is very similar to Marcher. The partner signals what to do when he shouts "Pu pu pu Punch!" to punch, "Dipsy Down!" to crouch, or "Turn right!" to turn right.

A group of Space Dancers are dancing together, and the player must dance in time with the others. They follow the directions of the other dancers and Space Gramps by pressing the corresponding button as the partners signal what to do. The three moves in this game are:
*Pose: A voice says "And Pose!", where the dancers raise their left hand on "And", then tilt to the side on "Pose!"
*Squat: A voice says "Let's Sit Down!", where the dancers stand up on "Let's", then squat on "Down!"
*Punch: A voice says "Pu-Pu-Pu-Punch!", where the dancers motion with their open palms on the first three syllables, and punch on the last one.

Space Dance 2P is the 1st Rhythm Game of Stage 3 (9th overall) in the 2P mode of Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade).

Controls
The arrange version, Cosmo Dance 2P, appears in Stage 4 of the 2P mode of Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade).
*A: Punch
*Down on D-pad: Crouch
*Right on D-pad: Turn right

The game plays the same as the 1P version, except the first player controls the second dancer, and the second player controls the fourth dancer. Oddly enough, P1 cannot hit the third dancer in line.<gallery>Screenshot Arcade Space Dance 2P.png</gallery>

*In some parts, the yellow man sings along with the dancers.
*The song for The☆Bon Odori was originally performed in the first draft by a "designer girl" who is also known to have voiced Space Dance and Kokuhaku Machine. Based on internal data, this may be Sachiko Ikeo.
*The Space Dancers appear in Rhythm Heaven playing ping-pong in Rhythm Rally.
*The Paddler's design in Rhythm Rally is based off of the Space Dancers.
*The Space Dancers, along with the Rap Men, The Clappy Trio, the monkeys from Tap Dance, a speedy White Ghosts, Ninja and the Stealth Rats, appear again in Rhythm Heaven, but as a cameo in Freeze Frame. The first four of them appear when the level increases. The other may appear sometimes in photos taken.
*The Space Dancers make a cameo in Freeze Frame as Racing Fans.
*The yellow man is referenced in Tap Troupe's Read Something, and is in the open books in Remix 7.
*Space Gramps is referenced in At the Auditions, and in Remix 7's version of Cheer Readers.
