In this game, you play as a wrestler being interviewed by a reporter after a match. When asked "Wubbadubbadubba, is that true?" (Japanese: ペケペケペケですか? pekepekepeke desuka?, Korean: 그게 정말 사실인가요? geuge jeongmal sasil-ingayo?), the player must simply nod "yeah". When complimented with a "Woah, you go, big guy!" (Japanese: へえ~すごいですネ! Hee sugoi desu ne!, Korean: 와!대단하네요! wa!daedanhaneyo! ), the player must flex their bicep. Finally, when the photographers call out "Pose for the fans!" (Japanese: こっち見て! Kotchi mite!, Korean: 여기보세요! yeogiboseyo!), the player must strike a pose.

This game revolves around a Wrestler being interviewed by a Reporter after a match. There are three things the reporters may do:
Near the end of the game, the "pose for the fans" may be followed by a newspaper of the event with a photo taken from the event.

*"Whoa, you go, big guy!"와!대단하네요!, the Wrestler is expected to flex and pose.

*Perfect!/Ace!: With the "Wubbadubbadubba, is that true?" or "Woah, you go, big guy!" command, a camera flash will happen afterward. With the "Pose for the fans!", multiple camera flashes will appear, as well as a radial background. On occasion, a newspaper will appear with the picture on it.

*Parodies of Ringside has appeared all over the Internet, particularly YouTube, showcasing a character and an odd phrase or personality trait of said character. This is documented on its page on Know Your Meme.
*The basis of this game stemmed from the idea of cutting of a wedding cake, as while one would be trying to concentrate on the cutting of the cake, wedding guests would take pictures and request the person's attention. The developers thought that the idea of a cake-cutting rhythm game didn't seem too promising and came up with the interview scenario instead<ref>[http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/wii/rhythmheavenfever/0/2 Iwata Asks - Rhythm Heaven Fever, 3. *The newspaper after some poses is "Nintendo Times", referencing the Rhythm Heaven series' developer and publisher company, Nintendo.
*The "Wubbadubbadubba" commands that are stated as "questions" appear to suggest that the wrestler is not actually listening to the reporter, and is just responding with the same thing each time. This is supported by the game's reading material, which has the wrestler saying "Eh" to all the questions, despite them being actual questions.
*In Minna no Rhythm Tengoku and Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+, the blue squares with stars have the word "YONE" below them; a reference to one of game's developers, Masami Yone. In all other versions, his name is ommited.

*In Rhythm Heaven Fever, the background in the OK rate has blue and orange stripes in it, but in Megamix, it was fixed to have orange and yellow stripes instead, just like in the game when the Wrestler is doing poses. This happens in the Korean version of Fever, as well.
*This game appears in the "Wario...Where? 2: The Sequel" Challenge Train. In this version, you play as Wrestler, dressed like Wario-Man. who is getting interviewed by Reporter, dressed like Mona. Mona herself can be seen outside the Rhythm Arena at the very beginning and at the end of the game.
*In the Japanese version of this game, there are 2 variants for "Wubbadubbadubba, is that true?" and 2 variants for "Woah, you go big guy!". However, in the US version of this game, there are 3 variants for the 2 commands listed earlier.

  • "Wubbadubbadubba, 'zat true?" (ペケペケペケですか??, Pekepekepeke Desuka?)그게 정말 사실인가요? (Geuge Jeongmal Sasil-ingayo??). The Wrestler is expected to nod with an affirmative-sounding grunt on the beat.
  • "Whoa, you go, big guy!" (へえ~すごいですネ!?, Hee Sugoi desu ne!)와!대단하네요! (Wa! Daedanhaneyo!?), the Wrestler is expected to flex and pose.
  • "Pose for the fans!" (こっち見て!?, Kotchi mite!)여기보세요! (Yeogiboseyo!?), which is said by other photographers, asks the Wrestler to strike a pose. Sometimes this is followed by a newspaper showing the photo.

Appearances

Two Player

Ringside (レスラー会見?, Wrestler Kaiken) is the 3rd Rhythm Game in the Two-Player Menu in Rhythm Heaven Fever.

Two Wrestlers are being interviewed, with P1 controlling a cyan Wrestler with a "1" on his mask, and P2 controlling an orange Wrestler with a "2" on his mask. The background also has different colors.

Trivia

  • The basis of this game stemmed from the idea of cutting of a wedding cake, as while one would be trying to concentrate on the cutting of the cake, wedding guests would take pictures and request the person's attention. The developers thought that the idea of a cake-cutting rhythm game didn't seem too promising and came up with the interview scenario instead[1].
  • The newspaper after some poses is "Nintendo Times", referencing the Rhythm Heaven series' developer and publisher company, Nintendo.
  • In Minna no Rhythm Tengoku and Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+, the blue squares with stars have the word "YONE" below them; a reference to one of game's developers, Masami Yone. In all other versions, his name is ommited.
    • In Rhythm World Wii, the background in the Two Player version of Ringside has the same colors as the One Player version, rather than using the unique colors that all other versions use.
  • In Rhythm World Wii, the red and yellow stripes after a successful pose are replaced with orange and yellow stripes.
  • This game appears in the "Wario...Where? 2: The Sequel" course. Here, the Wrestler is dressed up like Wario-Man, while the Reporter is dressed up like Mona. The real Mona can be seen standing outside the Rhythm Arena.
