Karate Joe first appeared in ''[[Rhythm Tengoku]]'' as its first rhythm game, [[Karate Man (GBA)|Karate Man]]. He very soon later appears in the [[Remix 1 (GBA)|first remix]] alongside the four other games in Set 1 other games. Much later, he reappears along with every other game in [[Remix 6]]. He would then appear in [[Karate Man 2 (GBA)|Karate Man 2]] right after that. He then made appearances in the last two remixes, [[Remix 7 (GBA)|Remix 7]] and [[Remix 8 (GBA)|Remix 8]].

In ''[[Rhythm Heaven Fever]]'', the karate fighter appears in many different games as cameo, however they are usually Easter-eggs. He first appears, as with the other games in the ''Rhythm Heaven'' series, in [[Karate Man (Wii)|Karate Man]]. This rhythm game takes place right before the [[Remix 7 (Wii)|seventh remix]], him appearing again. He gets parts in [[Remix 9 (Wii)|Remix 9]], and gets a sequel minigame in [[Karate Man 2 (Wii)|Karate Man 2]], right before the [[Remix 10 (Wii)|final remix]], him appearing in that as well. This proves that he is the most recurring character in the ''Rhythm Heaven series.''
